Consul-General Sir P. Warren to the Marquess of Lansdowne.-(Received October 9.)

(No. 21.) My Lord,

Shanghae, August 31, 1905.

I HAVE the honour to forward herewith the statistics of the trade of China for 1904, which have, at the request of His Majesty's Commercial Attaché, been compiled by Mr. H. I. Harding, Assistant in the Records Office of this Consulate.

I regret that, owing to the illness of some members of the Consulate staff and consequent pressure of work on others, it has been impossible to complete the Returns until now.

I have, &c.

PELHAM L. WARREN.

(Signed)
